Navigation Menus

There are two navigation menus that you will find throughout the site:

  1. Main navigation
  2. Section navigation

Main Navigation

This is the horizontal navigation that sits at the top of the page. This can be used to jump to the section of the website you wish to visit. To help you navigate each section, you will find a separate navigation to the left of the page.

Section Navigation

The section navigation can be found at the left of the page. For the majority of the pages this is true, except on the Home Page and the handful of pages that do not require further navigation.

Skipping the Navigation

For those visitors who may benefit, we have provided a ‘skip to content' link at the top of each page. Please use this to skip the navigation menus on the page and jump straight to the page content.

The Jisc TechDis website offers the following usability and accessibility features to help users:

Increasing the text size
The majority of this website has been designed to be legible at larger font sizes.

The two most common methods to increase the font size on our web-pages are:

  1. Use the browser text-resize functionality
  2. Use the accessibility tools built in to the website.

Use your browser’s text-resize functionality

Modern browsers allow you to change the size of the text should you want to. To do this, hold down the Control Button and press + or - to increase or decrease text size respectively. For browsers where this does not work, please refer to the browser's help documentation.

Please note: you must have javascript enabled to access this functionality.  For the website to remember your settings from page to page and visit to visit, you also need to have cookies enabled.

The built-in accessibility tools can be accessed by clicking the ‘accessibility’  link in the top right of each page. A panel will open to reveal options for changing the text size and page colour options.
