What We Have to Offer

JISC Techdis has become well known and well respected for the quality of its practical resources, which are synonymous with the Service. Many of these materials will be of use to both individuals or groups following staff development or CPD (Continuous Professional Development) programmes.

The highly acclaimed ITQ in Accessible IT Practice may well be a route that organisations or individuals wish to pursue in order to gain recognition for demonstrating inclusive practice.

JISC Techdis offers a range of highly practical resources covering a wide variety of accessibility and inclusion related topics. All are available from the website or in some cases they are also available in hard copy for offline use. If you wish to order any of our publications please do so by submitting a publication request form.

To accommodate the many requests for support and training, our network of Accredited Trainers consists of highly respected, professional trainers with in-depth knowledge of accessibility, inclusion and using technology effectively in teaching and learning. Many of whom also have specific areas of expertise such as mobile learning, Xerte or work based learning. Contact them directly through the website links - their contact details can be found on our Accredited Trainers page.

The Service has, over many years, built up a wealth of materials and expertise; we would therefore hope we can answer most questions posed to us. However, if you do need advice on a specific issue and cannot find an answer easily, or have any questions about our work, there are a few other ways we can help.

For specific queries on accessibility or inclusion we provide a helpdesk service. We simply ask you to complete and submit the form available on our contact us page, in many cases we can answer directly, if not we will collate answers from a range experts and provide a detailed answer for you.

Alternatively, we may be able to direct you to the appropriate professional body, membership organisation or another JISC Advance Service with the expertise related specifically to your interest. JISC Techdis has forged relationships with many of the providers of the large CPD programmes, in order to ensure that they encourage participants in the development of inclusive practice.

The Online Accessibility Self Evaluation Service (OASES) is an auditing and self-assessment tool that can be used to assess and benchmark current accessibility practice. This is role specific guidance for individuals and teams within an institution, across institutions and for an entire institution. It can be undertaken at any time without any prerequisite prior understanding of accessibility and inclusion issues.
